Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about adding virtual try-on to your store.
Getting started
How do I add Drape to my Shopify store?+
Install directly from the Shopify App Store — one click, no code needed. The Try On button is added to your theme automatically via a Theme App Extension. You can position it anywhere on the product page in the Theme Editor.
Shopify setup guide →How do I add Drape to WooCommerce?+
Sign up for a free account, get your API key from the dashboard, then paste one script tag before </body> on your product page template. The easiest method is using the "Insert Headers and Footers" WordPress plugin. No WooCommerce plugin is required.
WooCommerce setup guide →How do I add Drape to a Dukaan store?+
Sign up, copy your script tag from the dashboard, then paste it in Dukaan Admin → Appearance → Custom Code → Footer Code. The Try On button appears on all product pages automatically.
Dukaan setup guide →Does Drape work on Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, or custom stores?+
Yes. Drape works on any platform where you can add a custom script tag before </body>. This includes Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, BigCommerce, Magento, and fully custom-built storefronts.
Do I need a developer to set up Drape?+
No. Shopify merchants install in one click from the App Store. WooCommerce and Dukaan merchants paste one script tag — many use a plugin or the built-in code injection field, no editing of theme files required.
Pricing and credits
How many free try-ons do I get?+
10 free try-ons are included with every new account. No credit card required and no expiry date. They're yours to use however you like.
What happens when my free try-ons run out?+
Shopify merchants choose a paid plan (Basic $5/mo, Growth $19/mo, or Scale $49/mo) managed through Shopify billing. WooCommerce and Dukaan merchants purchase prepaid credit packs — 100 to 2,000+ credits at $0.06–$0.10 per try-on. Credits never expire.
Are there any extra charges on Shopify?+
Yes — if your shoppers use more try-ons than your monthly plan includes, additional try-ons are billed per use at your plan's overage rate ($0.06–$0.07 each), with a monthly cap so you're never charged more than the limit shown for your plan.
Can I pay in INR as an Indian merchant?+
Yes. Indian merchants on WooCommerce or Dukaan can pay via UPI or bank transfer (NEFT/IMPS). Contact support after payment and credits will be added to your account within 24 hours.
The shopper experience
Does the shopper need to install an app?+
No. The virtual try-on happens entirely in the browser. Shoppers click the Try On button on your product page, upload a photo, and receive a photorealistic result — no download or sign-up required.
How long does a try-on take?+
Approximately 15 seconds. A progress indicator is shown while the AI generates the result. The shopper can request another try-on with a different photo immediately after.
What kind of photo should the shopper upload?+
A full-body or chest-up photo works best. The AI handles different lighting conditions and backgrounds. The shopper should be wearing clothing that's distinctly different from the garment they're trying on for the clearest result.
Can shoppers share their try-on result?+
Yes. After each try-on, shoppers can share the result via WhatsApp, Instagram, or a direct link. Every shared link includes a "Shop this look" button that links back to your product page — turning social shares into traffic.
Privacy and data
Does Drape store shopper photos?+
No. Shopper photos are used to generate the try-on image and deleted within 1 hour. Drape does not retain, sell, or use shopper photos for any other purpose.
Is Drape GDPR compliant?+
Yes. Shopper photos are processed and deleted within 1 hour. No personal shopper data is stored beyond what is necessary for the try-on. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Read Privacy Policy →How do I request deletion of my merchant data?+
Contact support and request data deletion. We process all requests within 30 days.

How does Drape detect the product image?+
Drape reads the og:image meta tag from the product page. This tag is automatically set by all major e-commerce platforms — Shopify, WooCommerce (with Yoast/RankMath), Dukaan, and most others. No extra configuration is needed for standard store setups.
Can I override the product image?+
Yes. Add data-garment-image="https://your-image-url.jpg" to the script tag to specify a garment image explicitly, overriding the og:image auto-detection.
Can I customise the button colour?+
Yes. Add data-button-color="#your-hex" to the script tag. The button text colour adjusts automatically for contrast (white or black text based on your brand colour's luminance).
Which garment types work best?+
Tops, shirts, dresses, kurtas, and jackets work best. Bottom wear (trousers, skirts, jeans) also works — the AI preserves the shopper's existing top when trying on bottoms. Accessories like bags and shoes are not currently supported.
